About the Event

In September, we will read "The Mimicking of Known Successes."  We invite you to join us for an engaging exploration of this remarkable work that seamlessly weaves together mystery, romance, and the allure of the unknown. Malka Ann Older's novel promises to take us on a journey through a realm of gas-wreathed outposts and enigmatic investigations. Mark your calendar for September 10 as we gather at All She Wrote Books to discuss this genre bending novel.

Event Highlights:

  • Immersive Book Discussion
  • A Community of Enthusiastic Readers
  • Coffee and donuts from Union Square Donuts

Tickets are limited to due to capacity at the bookstore, and each ticket will include either a copy of the breakfast book club pick or a $5 All She Wrote Books gift card.

There are many ways to obtain a copy of the book (aside from your public library) — you can purchase it through allshewrotebooks.com, Bookshop.org, or Libro.fm to help support our work.

Our event has a limited capacity and we want to ensure that as many people as possible are able to attend. By letting us know that you can no longer attend, we can open up your spot to someone on our waitlist who is eager to participate.

ABOUT THE BOOK

A cozy gaslamp murder mystery and sapphic romance, set on Jupiter, by the author of the critically-acclaimed Centenal Cycle. On a remote, gas-wreathed outpost of a human colony on Jupiter, a man goes missing. The enigmatic Investigator Mossa follows his trail to Valdegeld, home to the colony’s erudite university—and Mossa’s former girlfriend, a scholar of Earth’s pre-collapse ecosystems.  Pleiti has dedicated her research and her career to aiding the larger effort towards a possible return to Earth. When Mossa unexpectedly arrives and requests Pleiti’s assistance in her latest investigation, the two of them embark on a twisting path in which the future of life on Earth is at stake—and, perhaps, their futures, together.
