ABOUT THE EVENT

Love reading & talking about books? All She Wrote Books is excited to announce our first book club event at the intersection of great literature and delicious food. Aside from reading great books each month, our co-host Juliet will develop a fun themed cocktail for every book selection!

For the month of July, we will be reading Small Fires . Join us on SUNDAY, July 30th at 5pm at our co-host location, Juliet in Somerville for a lively discussion !

Tickets are limited to due to capacity at Juliet, and each ticket will include either a copy of the book club pick or a $5 All She Wrote Books gift card.

There are many ways to obtain a copy of the book (aside from your public library) — you can purchase it through allshewrotebooks.com, Bookshop.org, or Libro.fm support our work.

Our event has a limited capacity and we want to ensure that as many people as possible are able to attend. By letting us know that you can no longer attend, we can open up your spot to someone on our waitlist who is eager to participate.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Cooking is thinking! The spatter of sauce in a pan, a cook's subtle deviation from a recipe, the careful labor of cooking for loved ones: these are not often the subjects of critical inquiry. Cooking, we are told, has nothing to do with serious thought; the path to intellectual fulfillment leads directly out of the kitchen. In this electrifying, innovative memoir, Rebecca May Johnson rewrites the kitchen as a vital source of knowledge and revelation.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rebecca May Johnson has published essays, reviews and nonfiction with Granta, Times Literary Supplement and Daunt Books Publishing, among others, and is an editor at the trailblazing food publication Vittles. Small Fires is her first book.

Our Book Club Guidelines

  • You do not have to have finished the book to participate, but we ask that you contribute to the discussion in whatever way you feel comfortable.
